Miss World is Miss Venezuela, Ivian Sarcos
 
 
Miss Venezueala Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colimenares is the new Miss World 2011. Miss India Kanishtha Dhankhar, however, fails to make the cut as Venezuelan beauty bags the top spot.
Ivian is a Diplomacy student who stands 1.80 m (5'11") tall. She was studying to be a nun. Being an orphan at the age of 8 as her parents passed away, Sarcos was raised by the nuns in a convent in Cojedes
She intended to become a nun, but she eventually gave up the idea and realized that her appearance would give her a chance to become famed and she started her career as a model.
The 21-year-old Venezuelan who works for a broadcasting company and holds a degree in human resources beat over 113 beauty queens from across the world.
Miss Philippines, Gwendoline Gaelle Sandrine Ruais, came second.
Miss Puerto Rico, Amanda Victoria Vilanova Perez, was the second runner-up in the competition.
Miss England, Alize Lily Mounter won the swimwear contest.
While Miss Kazakhstan, Zhanna Zhumaliyeva, was named top model as Miss Ghana, Stephanie Karikari, and Miss Indonesia, Astrid Yunadi, were the joint winners of the beauty with a purpose category.
Kanishtha Dhankhar, who represented India, did not make it to the top 15 semi finalists that included Indonesia, Korea, Italy, Sweden, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Venezuela, Philippines, US VI, Spain, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Scotland and England.
